Events Terms and Conditions
Plasticity, and its Events, is owned and operated by Ocean Recovery Alliance in partnership with The Plastics Circle. References to ‘Plasticity’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ includes Ocean Recovery Alliance and The Plastics Circle. ‘Delegate’, ‘registrant’, ‘organisation’, ‘participant’ or ‘you’ means the person or persons registered to attend the Event.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all Events organised by and services delivered by us. Registration as a participant in an Event requires acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
Registration and payment
Attendance of an Event is subject to registering and payment of the registration fee. Prices listed on the Event page excluded government charges. The registration will only be valid upon receipt of payment in full (including GST, VAT etc), and can only be made by credit card. Entry to an Event without registration is not permitted.
We may issue promotional discount codes from time to time. These will come with restrictions on usage. Discount offers cannot be combined with any other offer. We reserve the right to cancel any registration made with a Promo Code that was not intended for that person.
Registration fees are non-refundable. However, a participant may designate a substitute delegate with prior notification.
If a conference cannot be held or has to be moved or changed due to (i) any reason(s) beyond our control that prevents or substantially hinders the act of holding the Event and/or (ii) unforeseen political and economic events, acts of terrorism or civil disturbance and its consequences, acts of God, national emergency, national mourning, strike/demonstration, closure of airports, natural and man-made disaster/epidemics or any other event of ‘Force Majeure’, participants cannot hold us liable for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, financial losses, etc. Under these circumstances, we reserve the right to retain the entire registration fee.
We reserve the right to defer or to cancel an Event (without liability) for an actual or probable Force Majeure event. No refunds will be made to participants unable to attend an Event due to a Force Majeure event.
Your Responsibilities – Travel arrangements
You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodation, insurances and visa requirements. All expenses incurred in relation to attending an Event are the sole responsibility of the participant. We are not responsible for any bodily or material damage (including theft) sustained by participants while attending an Event.
If you require an official Letter of Invitation please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. To receive a Letter of Invitation, you must first register and pay for the Event. Please allow up to two weeks for us to process your request and email you the Letter of Invitation. A Letter of Invitation does not financially obligate us in any way.
Harassment and inappropriate conduct is not accepted, and we reserve the right to refuse admission or eject any delegate who acts offensively or who brings the conference into disrepute. The following Code of Conduct forms an integral part of these Terms and Conditions. All decisions about appropriate or inappropriate behaviour are at our sole discretion.
Be considerate and respectful.
To respect the property and rights of the hotel, the conference venue, social spaces and other guests and public.
Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech.
Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants.
Alert conference organisers if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
Delegate details and data protection
Advertising and promotion during the event
Only Event sponsors may, in accordance with their sponsorship terms, advertise or promote their services or products at an Event. Any non-sponsor using marketing materials to advertise or promote their products or services may be considered as sponsorship, and may be charged as such.
Liability and insurance
Delegates should be insured against risks including personal liability and theft. We will not be held liable for any loss of or damage to materials or equipment how so ever caused. The participants on their part will be held liable for any damage to persons or objects caused by them. We will also not be liable for the loss of personal items.
Delegates are required to wear their Event identification at all times during the programme. Access to the Event venue and social events may be denied to persons not wearing of an Event ID.
We will use image, video and sound recording to record and/or transmit all or part of the Event. These recordings will be publicly available online and will be used in our educational and promotional material into the future. Attendance at the conference is acceptance of these terms.
While speakers and topics were confirmed at the time of publishing, circumstances may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such, we reserve the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or program topics if necessary without any liability to registrants whatsoever. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on this website as soon as possible.
The official language of all conferences is English; no translation will be offered.
The views expressed by any attendee, speaker or sponsor are not necessarily ours. All Conference attendees, speakers, and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of any and all individual or corporation presentations, marketing collateral, advertising and online web content.
We reserve the right to change these terms from time to time. Any such changes will be reflected on the website under Terms and Conditions. It is the responsibility of delegates to be aware of the Terms and Conditions in effect at the time of their registration and participation.
